Two by Two: Small-Scale Ceramic Sculpture Biennial

Exhibition: Jan. 24 – March 14

FREE RECEPTION: a reception will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at noon in the EWU Gallery of Art.

Location: Eastern Washington University Gallery of Art is located in the Art Building situated in the center of the fine and performing arts complex on the EWU campus in Cheney, Washington.

Hours: The gallery is open to the public, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is closed weekends and holidays.

Admission is free.

This biennial event features small-scale ceramic sculpture by 18 artists from throughout the United States and Canada. The exhibition features a variety of styles from figurative to abstract as well as a variety of processes and materials, including porcelain, earthenware and stoneware. The artworks selected for the exhibition reveal the diversity of visions within the ceramic community and offer insight into themes being explored by contemporary ceramic artists today.

The artworks included in this exhibition were selected by exhibition juror Jae Won Lee.  Jae Won Lee received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Fine Arts from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Lee has exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions including twenty solo exhibitions. Lee is currently an Associate Professor at Michigan State University.
