The Pride Center will be offering the Welcoming Project LGBTQ Ally Training again, both on the Cheney campus and for the first time on the Riverpoint campus.
For those of you who are not familiar with the training, the Welcoming Project is an opportunity for faculty and staff to work with the Pride Center to provide a more accepting and welcoming environment for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) students on the EWU campus. This environment is created through identifying individuals who can provide a supportive environment as well as information for LGBTQ students and their allies.
The training is facilitated by Sandy Williams (Coordinator of the EWU Pride Center) and Terrie Ashby-Scott (Director of General Undergraduate Academic Advising). It is informative, interactive, fun and a safe space for questions and skill building around LGBT issues.
We will be offering both an afternoon training on the EWU campus and a morning training on the Riverpoint campus.
The two options for the Spring 2013 Welcoming Project Training are:
April 11: EWU campus from 1-4 p.m., location TBD
April 12: Riverpoint campus from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., location TBD
Please let me know which session would like to attend. We like to keep the groups small in order to have more meaningful discussions and to make sure there is time for questions, so space will again be limited.
Please RSVP by the end of winter quarter, 3/22.
