The official call for abstracts is out for the 16th annual EWU Student Research and Creative Works Symposium to be held May 14-15 on the Cheney campus. Entries are due by April 12, and abstracts and creative works descriptions can be submitted on a link at the symposium website at www.ewu.edu/symposium.
The symposium showcases projects completed by undergraduate and graduate students after months of preparation with their faculty mentors. Students may chose to do an oral, poster or interactive research presentation, present on a service learning project, display visual art, give a theatrical performance, screen a brief film, perform a musical composition or give a literary reading.
Last year, nearly 500 students presented their abstracts and creative works. The mission of the EWU Student Research and Creative Works Symposium is to promote student research, scholarship and creative activity done in partnership with faculty as a vital component of higher education. Students, faculty and the general public are invited to attend to hear and discuss undergraduate and graduate creative and scholarly work.
