Deadline Extended to July 31: Call for Strategic Plan Conference Poster Presentations

A message from Gary L. Pratt

Dear Campus Community:

EWU will host its 3rd Strategic Plan Conference on Oct. 2-3, 2014 on the Cheney campus. This year’s conference, titled “Inspiring the Future – Living the Promise,” will be a time to celebrate the outstanding progress that has been made during the last two years of the Strategic Plan and look ahead at year three actions.

“Inspiring the Future – Living the Promise” will be a two-day event. The campus-wide luncheon featuring our keynote speakers, followed by breakout sessions and an open-house reception with poster presentations from faculty, staff and students will take place on Oct. 3.

Application for Poster Presentations
Like last year, the planning committee is seeking staff, faculty and students to submit an application to participate in a poster presentation on an important action from the strategic plan that was accomplished or where significant progress was made in the past year. Last year, a handful of students participated in the poster session. This year, we encourage even more students who have been actively involved in the project or initiative to present with you.

The presentation would involve:

- The development of a poster to visually communicate the progress or completion of the action
Note: Design resources will be available
- A presentation of the material to attendees at the open house reception from 4-7 p.m.
Note: this is not a formal presentation, but rather an informal presentation to those who approach your designated poster area

If you are interested in participating as a poster presenter, please use the guidelines below to submit your abstract about the action you would like to highlight:
1) Abstract must be no more than 750 words. It should communicate the impact the project, initiative or action has made on the university, the progress that has been made, and the departments that have been actively involved in the implementation. Please include the presenter’s name, contact information, department and the topic of the poster presentation.
2) To submit by email, please send your abstract to Gary L. Pratt by Thursday, July 31, 2014.

The Strategic Planning Conference Committee will review all applications. Speakers will be notified on July 21 if they have been selected to present.

Thank you for your participation.
