Technology Resources for Students

Student Technology Access (through your NetID)

Computer Labs:
Don’t have a laptop or personal computer? There are a number of computer labs available to all EWU students:

  • Labs in Cheney and in Spokane at the Riverpoint campus
  • Both Macs and PCs available
  • Color and black and white printers available
  • Use Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Adobe X Pro, etc), and more!

Checkout Equipment:
You can check-out laptops, cameras, digital video camcorders, webcams, and more (free of charge) from JFK Library and MARS multimedia lab. More information.

Other Awesome Technology Resources

Student Email Account:
Along with the important information you’ll be getting from EWU in your student email account, you have access to Live Messenger and Live SkyDrive (25GB of password protected storage for projects and photos). More information.

NetStorage:
10 GB of online storage space for your files. NetStorage can be accessed from just about anywhere with an Internet connection and keeps your files safe and secure. More information.

Wireless (Wi-fi):
The university wireless network is available to all students, faculty and staff. It is available in most buildings and common areas on campus. Wireless Zone and Set-up information. **If you will be living in the residence halls, the residence hall Internet network is independent from EWU wireless network, so access is different. Check your Campus Move-In Guide for more information.**

Student WebSpace:
Enables you to create your own website using standard HTML or programs such as Adobe GoLive and Dreamweaver (which are available in the computer labs). More information.

Online Training:
Lynda.com is an award winning provider of computer training for creative designers, instructors and students. Access all online training titles from any on-campus computer at the Cheney and Spokane campus locations. Access is also available off-campus with your Student VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection.

Student VPN (Virtual Private Network) Connection (for students who live off-campus):
Student VPN will securely connect your home computer/laptop to the University Network and allow you to use resources such as NetStorage, Linda.com training and the EWU Virtual Labs.

EWU Virtual Labs:
Enables you login to lab computers to access specialized software anytime, anywhere, 24×7. Access Adobe Creative Suite 5 software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and more!

Free Antivirus:
Students may download a free copy of Trend Micro to use throughout their University career.

Print Credit:
The Student Technology Fee provides $9.00 of print credit per student per quarter. Pricing information and printing options. Also, checkout the online printing option.

Software Discounts:
The Student Software Select Program is an effort by your Student Technology Fee to provide needed software at prices you can afford. Awesome discount prices on Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Windows 7 Pro, Microsoft Office and more! More information.
