The train. Possibly the most inconvenient noise to be heard at any time of day. I have lived by a train all my life so, if anything, it has become a comfort to me. However, for my fiancé who recently moved here after serving four years in the Navy, it was a nuisance. It took about a month of sleepless nights for him to finally habituate to the sound but now he sleeps peacefully and in turn I do as well.
