Foundation Start Something Big (SSB) Grant for Faculty and Staff
The Foundation invites proposals in the categories listed below that support the University’s mission statement (see the University web site). Proposals should enhance the University and provide opportunities for development and research support.
Faculty Instructional Opportunities
Proposals under this category will reflect innovative opportunities for instructional design and delivery. Requests may include short-term training or conferences, visiting scholars, or materials and equipment that are demonstrated to be integral to the success of the project. Preference will be given to interdisciplinary projects. Awards can range from $100 to $5,000 for individual faculty projects.
Proposals under this category will seek funds for research projects that will enhance instruction at Eastern Washington University and provide opportunities to conduct research. The goal of this support is to enhance recognition of EWU in order to be competitive for external grant sources.
Campus/Community Events or Projects
Proposals under this category will reflect events that enhance the university commitment to the community or demonstrate future benefit to EWU. Generally, funding will be available for portions of the activity. Commitment from the university, the department or program must be shown as matching support. Should the event not occur, the grant application and proffered funds will be returned.
