Even in a Pandemic, the Veterans Resource Center is Available

In honor of Veterans Day, and always, EWU’s Veterans Resource Center is here to assist the more than 450 Eastern students who are veterans, as well as the faculty and staff who have served our country. While the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) located in Showalter Hall is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 restrictions, VRC staff remains available via phone and email, as well as in scheduled, in-person appointments. You can contact the VRC office via email to schedule a meeting or call 509.359.7040.

The pandemic has created many new challenges for people. The VRC and other campus organizations are here to help. If you need to talk with someone, please reach out to the VRC staff, the EWU Student Care Team, or EWU Counseling Services.

EWU has nine scholarships which are only available for student veterans and service members. These scholarships will not affect your VA Educational Benefits. There is also a new scholarship available for women veterans only. In the 2019-20 academic year, more than $25,000 was awarded to EWU veteran students.

All veterans are encouraged to apply for these scholarships. Apply through the general scholarship process in the link below and be sure to identify yourself as a veteran. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1.

Veterans Day will look a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, several national level organizations are hosting virtual events. Click the link below to find an event.
