The Regional First LEGO League Competitions, to be held January 12 and 13, 2013, will involve young people (9-14 years old) working as a team to program LEGO robots to overcome a set of challenges on a large table-size field of competition.
Volunteers are needed now for judging the event, which will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 and Sunday, Jan. 13 at the CEB building at EWU Cheney.
Any EWU community member is welcome to participate: staff, students and faculty! Judges are needed soon, for Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or even both days!
In the competition, pairs of volunteer judges deal with one of three contest categories: 1) Research Project Presentations 2) Robot Design and Programming and 3) Core Values. Judges are given scoring sheets for one category, and then view and judge the teams. A training session for judges starts each day.
Since the event covers two days, due to rapid expansion and interest, 36 judges are needed for this inspiring and exciting event. If you are interested, please contact Steve Simmons at EWU, email@example.com.
