The Writers’ Center: All-Inclusive Help for Everyone

The Writers’ Center, which used to be located on the third floor of the PUB, moved to the JFK Learning Commons at the start of fall quarter.

EWU students, faculty and staff can schedule a free one-on-one session to work on any type of writing (academic from any department, creative writing, resumes, proposals, etc.) at any stage of the process (brainstorming, drafting, revising).

Writers’ Center responders are professionals with backgrounds that include literature, creative writing, technical writing, science, social work and ESL.

In addition to bringing in writing, you can sign up for an appointment if you want feedback on a PowerPoint, speech, poster, website, video or other multimedia project.

Between the Riverpoint and Cheney locations, the Writers’ Center offers daytime, evening and weekend hours for in-person or Skype sessions.

Like them on Facebook to get updates on resources, events and other writing fun. (

My students have gotten superb help from Ray Melvin and others in the Writers’ Center for more years than I can count. I count on this great EWU resource to help pull my students through the most difficult writing assignments.
