The Grant & Research Development Department would like to thank everyone for participating in the Grants Office’s 26 Days of Kindness Initiative. The project attempted to collect $26 from 26 units for Give It Up 4 EWU Scholarships. The Grants Office made an initial $26 contribution and paid it forward to the Graduate Studies Office who in turn did the same until 26 units participated (see below).
Today we reached our goal of getting 26 units or individuals to be part of our initiative and thanks to many staff members we exceeded our original monetary goal of $676 by raising $850 for the scholarship fund. A special thanks to Kevin Hills, Disability Support Services, and others in Twanka who raised more than $118, as well as Gail Potter, Grants Office, who kept track of the donation box and the amount of funds raised.
The overall effort resulted in an act of kindness for our students and at the same time commemorated the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. We very much appreciate your participation in our initiative and again thank you.
