On April 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., in Senior Hall 204, a workshop on proposal writing will take place. Through the Academic Research Enhancement Awards (AREA), NIH supports small-scale research projects in the biomedical and behavioral sciences conducted by faculty and students at educational institutions that have not been major recipients of NIH research grant funds.
Grants fund up to $300,000 in direct costs over 3 years (indirect costs are in addition). The workshop will cover how to write a competitive AREA proposal, including exercises on writing and critiquing specific aim statements, as well as review of NIH basics such as understanding the review process. Please RSVP to Tracy Springberry at email@example.com.
