In the Spotlight is an opportunity for the campus community to get to know one another better. The goal is to build Eastern’s community by becoming familiar with the faces of faculty and staff members.
Title: Executive Assistant to the Vice President, University Advancement (Angela Jones)
Department: University Advancement
Number of years at Eastern: Only 4 months for me so far!
Brief personal/professional description: I grew up in Hawaii and went to college at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where I also played basketball. My wife’s career took us first to Kansas and then out here to Spokane in February 2018. She is also an employee at EWU and works as the Director of our Multicultural Center.
Favorite book: I have two: All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque and It by Stephen King.
Favorite restaurant: Overall, I would have to say my favorite restaurant is a sushi place in Colorado Springs called Jun. My favorite chain restaurant is Texas Roadhouse. So far in Spokane we have really enjoyed Twigs, Waddell’s and Rancho Viejo in the South Hill area.
Favorite vacation: When I was about 12 I was lucky enough to go on a family vacation to Niagara Falls – the waterfalls took my breath away!
If I could do anything today I would: Sit outside in a comfortable chair, a good book in my hands, with Helen Jane Long playing as background music.
