A Muslim Ramadan! Muslim, Christian, American, Ghanian – you might be wondering what we had in common here. Simple. We are all human. And that was enough for us.
The Muslims and Christian’s live together in harmony in this village. Beautiful.
At the end they all came up to us and wanted pictures. We felt famous! At first, the Ghanians were taking photos of us and we were taking photos of them… but then Dr. Mackelprang broke the ice and we all took pictures together!
This event made me think about if something like this happened in America. What if a bunch of foreigners showed up to a very sacred event and just stood there, observing, and taking photos? I feel like Americans would snicker, be rude, and not be as welcoming and excited as the Ghanians were.
