In the water project I was able to see how united everyone is as they worked together to build a road with dirt. The whole village was there. I was able to see the unity of the people by seeing them all together for the benefit of the community but a the same time I saw a bit of gender inequality. I saw that most of the man in the village would stand without getting themselves dirty by helping to carry dirt for the road. There was a few men that were filling up the buckets and containers for the women to carry to were they needed to place the dirt. There was also a couple of other men directing the women as to where they had to place the dirt. All the women were doing most the work while most of the men were standing. I was able to experience how hard these women worked by carrying some buckets with dirt and I can say that it was hard work. This experience makes me think about what privilegies I have as a women and on how strong and resilent the women in Ghana are.
