Types of messaging for bulk email

General public eBlasts are sent to members of the community for events open to the public, such as presidential events, guest lectures or art exhibits.
Here are a few other important things to consider when crafting a message.
Write a short, benefit-focused subject line. A strong subject line is the second most prominent element to getting your message opened.
Write compelling preheader text. The preheader is the short summary text that follows the subject line when an email is viewed in the inbox
Write simple, compelling body content with well-thought-out quality body content. Good writing isn’t about using any particular magic words but about getting your audience to understand your offering and the benefits it brings them in the simplest way possible. That’s what drives people to engage.
More than ever, keep your message concise and, if possible, place all important design elements in the upper portion of the email. Scrolling for miles is much harder on a touchscreen than with a mouse, just as containing important information within a graphic is not accessible.NOTE: University departments, offices, programs and individuals who send bulk mail are responsible for their content. Digital Communications reserves the right to edit submissions (according to the EWU Editorial Style Guide) for accuracy and compliance with EWU policies and state and federal laws.
