Years ago, my mom bought a clock to put on this awkward little spot in her house. Although it was in the living room, it was a nightmare. Through out the entire house you would hear… tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick (I’m almost done) tick tick tick. We heard it over the TV, our conversations (we all have the gift of gab and can get quite loud so that’s surprising in itself) and it rang louder than ever at night. Finally, we didn’t hear it any more. Phew! When everyone was out shopping this year the day after thanksgiving, I found this amazing deal on a large clock… I purchased it for my mom just knowing she was going to love it. The next day we were putting up our Christmas tree at our house… my 18 year old got a little aggressive and knocked our clock off our wall. The next time I went up to mom and dads, she said here, I have this one. Neither of us remembered the tick tick tick. UNTIL the first night in our home. It actually took me a while to realize what the noise was. Unfortunately we need a clock… so let the habituation effects begin! Hopefully! 😉
PS… I was thinking about writing this about my husbands snoring… but as I’m typing away he is literally snoring away right next to me. And I AM DEFINITELY STILL NOT USED TO IT.
