Do we really know the information from twitter or any other social media is correct and worth trusting? Or do we have any method to make sure that the information you’ve gotten has credibility? It is almost impossible. However, people believe what social media say too easily. Then what happen next is to use those unproven and no credibility resources for their own research paper or project. It is very serious problem in the U.S., and maybe in my country Japan as well, but not as much as it is in the U.S. When I was in college, we were told to use articles or any resources that were peer reviewed and had credibility. Yet, there were always students who stole words from some social media site which didn’t have any peer reviewed article, and kicked out from the college. I realized that it was much more serious issue in the U.S. and I have to be aware of the risk of using other person’s words without putting citations.
