The Eastern Washington University athletic department has founda way to make community involvement last a little longer than thatfuzzy, warm feeling at the bottom of your stomach.
The “I Own It!” campaign is aimed at funding the newrenovations for Woodward Field while providing an opportunity fordonors to have a permanent place on a plaque outside the DonorSuites.
Donations of anywhere between $125 and $500 are being requestedto offset the costs of the $2 million Donor Suites and MediaCenter. In addition to permanent recognition on the wall plaque, depending on the size of donation, supporters may also receive asouvenir “ownership” deed, an “I Own It!”t-shirt and a specialty Eagle lithograph.
Renovations for the home of Eastern football start with a newMedia Center, where the press will be able to see all of the vitalangles of each play every Saturday. New suites for Eagle fans willalso be made available, providing a little luxury for those whoprefer to view the game in a more private setting. Additionalseating behind the north end zone will also be made available toEastern patrons.
This is the first privately funded building on campus, andthanks to a very generous $1 million donation last year, the costof the campaign has nearly been met. This project was initiallyaimed at handling necessary renovations for Woodward Stadium, butthrough this community-oriented project, it has transformed intoanother excuse to celebrate Eastern Athletics.
This is another way for loyal supporters to show how they feelabout football and get a little recognition while helping a goodcause. Additional information about the project can be obtained bycalling 509-359-2463 or checking the web at www.goeags.com.
