Everyone seems to have an opinion about the food offered on campus. Now you can share your opinions with Food Services through the Food Service Committee.
Last spring, the Food Service Committee was created to give students the opportunity to play a vital role in deciding what kinds of food will be offered on our campus.
Dave McKay, director of Dining Services, suggested creating the committee, in hopes of discovering what trends, tastes and likes the students of Eastern have when it comes to food.
The committee consists of various people, however, student involvement is the key. There will be a minimum of four, possibly eight, students on the committee this year.
The committee plans on meeting five times a quarter, tackling one issue per-meeting. Issues such as separate Eagle card and debit card lines at Baldy’s, as well as the selection of food offered at the new recreation center, will be discussed at future meetings.
The committee will hold dinner meetings throughout the year, allowing committee members to sample food and “critique it, basically,” said Cassandra Weaver-Sykes, of Student Services.
The dinner meetings will allow the committee to help decide which foods will and will not be served at the various dining locations on campus.
The committee aims to “make a positive impact and have fun doing it,” said Weaver-Sykes.
