As spring quarter is winding down students are thinking about what to plan for the summer. For those unfortunate few, like me, summer quarter is on the agenda. Trying to schedule classes around working and those sunny afternoons at the lake can be near impossible.
Students were invited to bring their appetites, along with a love for literature last Wednesday as the Friends of the Library (FOL) held its annual Books2Eat contest in the JFK Library. Books2Eat is a yearly event for which students, faculty, staff and community members create a completely edible creation with a literary theme.
It seems every time I turn on the TV I hear more information about the swine flu, everything from where suspected cases are, to where in the world it has moved and how to prevent yourself from getting sick. If you have been living under a rock for the past month, the swine flu has taken the country by storm and has become a larger media story than Britney Spears shaving her head.
May Day will forever be remembered as the day you make little paper flowers and decorate your elementary classroom walls on May 1st. Although, some of an older generation may remember putting flowers on your neighbor’s doorstep or ringing the doorbell and running away, in 2009 this is not very likely.
Some college students spend four years writing paper after paper, but for Lizzy Mosback, the last four years have been much more. Mosback is a music education major with a vocal emphasis and has spent the last four years working toward her senior recital.
