The ASEWU constantly represents students throughout the EWU campus, and it may come as an afterthought by some whether the decisions made are in the best interest of the entire EWU community, including Riverpoint. The Riverpoint campus is located about 15 miles from Cheney, so some issues can get lost in translation, but not for the Associated Students.

William J. Kelley, EWU professor of urban and regional planning, recently received the Outstanding Planner Award for his 30 years of service and contributions to his field of expertise. Kelley was given the award in April at the American Planning Association Conference in Philadelphia, which is held each year to honor the best the nation has to offer in regional planning.
