You Should Sleep More!

Sleep is important for mental and physical health. The CDC recommends that adults get at least seven hours of sleep a night.

Missing out on sleep can cause a number of health problems including:

  • Increased blood pressure
  • Decreased immune function
  • Increased rates of depression and anxiety
  • Decreased concentration and memory
  • Increased risk of medical conditions such as:
    • Stroke
    • Diabetes
    • Cancer
    • Heart disease

Sleep deprivation also increases hunger levels, which can lead to poor eating habits and the dreaded Freshman 15.

If that isn’t bad enough, studies have shown that driving while sleep deprived is the same as driving drunk. Around 15% of fatal car accidents are caused by drowsy drivers.

Head to bed a little earlier tonight and give your body the chance to repair and relax.
