Psychology Faculty Members Awarded Research Funding

Two professors in Eastern Washington University’s Psychology Department spent the summer furthering their research thanks to prestigious grant awards.

Phil Watkins, PhD, professor of psychology, was awarded $225,000 by Biola University, funded by the John Templeton Foundation, for his project: The Form and Function of Gratitude to God: Investigating the Unique Conditions and
Consequences of Gratitude to God
. Georgia State University Faculty Dr. Don E. Davis is a subrecipient.

Kevin Criswell, PhD, a visiting assistant professor of psychology at the Bellevue campus was awarded $2,000 from Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, for his project: How Loneliness and Stigma Affect Health and Academic Outcomes in University Students with Chronic Health Conditions: A Longitudinal Mixed Methods Study.
