Cindy Wright Doyle Business Scholarship

The Cindy Wright Doyle Business Scholarship is created in memory of EWU alumna Cindy Wright Doyle. Cindy was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities region and graduated from Kamiakin High School in Kennewick in 1985. After attending Columbia Basin College for two years, Cindy transferred to Eastern Washington University, graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration, specializing in accounting. Cindy immersed herself into college life during her time at Eastern. She was a member of the cheerleading team for those two years and built lifelong relationships with other Eagles. She later earned her MBA from Washington State University.

As accomplished as Cindy was in a professional capacity, it was her family and friends who truly inspired her, and with whom she shared her passion for living. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Tim, and a loving mother to their two sons, Derek and Blake. Cindy inspired them to reach their dreams through education, sports and community service.

Education and community service were very important to Cindy. She was a skilled and talented professional woman with a 27-year career at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. Cindy embraced challenges and pushed herself and others to grow and develop as individuals and leaders. Cindy’s devotion, and seemingly endless energy, made a profound impact on many local organizations through her volunteer efforts.

Smart, creative, professional and most of all, caring – those are the traits she relied on and demonstrated every day. It is in this beautiful spirit that the scholarship is created in Cindy’s memory. Cindy’s life was tragically cut short, but her legacy lives on through her family, friends and this enduring commitment to education at her beloved school.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student in the College of Business and Public Administration at Eastern Washington University, and will be based primarily on academic merit and demonstrated community service. To contribute to this scholarship, please use the link,
