When you visit an Eastern SSO-enabled website and haven’t yet been authenticated during this browsing session, you will be redirected to https://login.ewu.edu/cas/login.
It is on this page that you enter your NetID (Eastern Active Directory/iTech username) and password. Before you do that, please check the URL to ensure that you aren’t being subjected to a phishing scam. There are two things to check for:
- The url should start with “https://login.ewu.edu/” and will likely be followed by additional information. If it starts with anything else, STOP and contact OIT.
- Check that the web browser is displaying an SSL padlock. The padlock is likely colored yellow or green. If there is no padlock or the browser warned you about a certificate problem, STOP and contact OIT.
If these don’t match please contact OIT immediately as there is either a problem that we need to fix or you are being subjected to a phishing scam.
When all looks well, enter your username and password. After successfully authenticating, you will be redirected to the website you were intending.
To check your authentication status or to logout, visit https://login.ewu.edu. If you are logged in, you’ll see the following page:
To log out:
1. Click the logout link.
2. Close your browser.
