Just in Time (JIT) Information
Some sponsors, such as NIH, do not require certain information to be submitted at the time of application. After initial submission and review, additional elements may be requested if an application may be considered for funding. If requested, Pre-Award staff will work with you to obtain and submit the required information.
Generally, JIT includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Certification of IRB Approval Subjects
If the proposed project involves human subjects, institutions must provide certification that the protocol has been approved by the university’s Institutional Review Board. A current approved protocol must be in place prior to the university receiving the award and research beginning.
Verification of IACUC Approval
If the proposed project involves research with live vertebrate animals, a protocol must be reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) prior to research beginning.
Current Other Support
All key personnel designated in the application must provide information about current and pending support. Other support includes: all financial resources, whether Federal, non-Federal, commercial or institutional, available in direct support of an individual’s research endeavors, including but not limited to: research grants, cooperative agreements, contracts and/or institutional awards. Training awards, prizes or gifts should not be included.
Human Subjects Education
If the proposed project involves human subjects research, certification that all individuals identified as senior/key personnel involved in human subjects research has completed an education program in the protection of human subjects must be submitted.
