Eastern Washington University Announces New Parking App
Global parking app leader, Passport, introduces app on campus
Cheney, Washington- Eastern Washington University today announced the introduction of a new app that will make parking on campus even easier.
ParkX, the university’s current parking app, has allowed users to easily pay for, manage, and extend parking from their phones. In December 2016, ParkX was acquired by the global leader in mobile payments for parking and transit, Passport, who powers apps for large cities like Boston, Toronto, Chicago, San Jose and Miami. As a result, fifteen new markets will be supported by Passport’s platform, including Eastern Washington University and the nearby City of Spokane.
“We’re pleased that Passport will be the vendor for smartphone meter payments at both the Cheney campus and in the neighboring City of Spokane. The ease of using one phone application between two locations adds continuity in our region and most likely will lead to less frustration for the end user,” said Michelle Rasmussen, Director of Parking and Transportation Services at EWU, Cheney.
The PassportParking app, which is free download in the App Store and Google Play, will make the parking process even easier for EWU users, offering enhanced features and an easier app flow for quicker payments.
Passport signage on campus will instruct new users to download and get started with the free app.
