The Welcoming Project is an informative, interactive, fun, and brave space for faculty, staff, and students to become a certified ally to EWU’s LGBTQ+ communities. Welcoming Project allies help create a more accepting, welcoming, and inclusive environment on EWU’s campuses. “Graduates” of the Welcoming Project receive an ally sticker and/or button that indicates they are an affirming person with whom LGBTQ+ folks can connect. Our hope is to have a Welcoming Project ally visible in every department and office on campus.
The Pride Center offers ally trainings once per quarter. These quarterly trainings are open to any EWU student, staff, or faculty member.
The next Welcoming Project trainings open to all EWU community members will be:
Monday, April 10, 2017
12pm – 1:30pm
The Pride Center also offers additional trainings by request to student organizations, departments, and offices. Send us an e-mail with some dates and times that work best for your group, and we will do our best to accommodate.
Register for Ally Training
Registration for ally training is as easy as 1-2-3!
- Submit your registration form online (via EagleSync). The form can be found here: https://orgsync.com/97010/forms/236182
- Complete the LGBTQ+ terminology quiz and pass with a score of at least 80%. This 20-minute quiz serves as a tool to advance your knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ+ terminology in preparation for ally training. You may not participate in an ally training until this has been completed! But don’t worry – you can take the quiz again if you don’t pass the first time. :]
The quiz can be taken online (via EagleSync) here: https://orgsync.com/97010/forms/237016
- Stay tuned for confirmation e-mails from the Pride Center to ensure you are set.
