Named for Omer O. Pence, an Eastern Washington University graduate and faculty member, the Pence Union Building (PUB) serves as the community center for EWU, housing the majority of student services and student engagement resources. It comprises the original 1968 student union (63,000 square feet) and a 1994 addition (57,000 sf). In 2016, the PUB was closed for a major renovation.
