Revising Academic Program Review
In Winter 2019, the Senate approved a pause in Academic Program Review while the Program Review Committee (PRC) revises the policies and procedures. PRC has two versions of the procedures (Plan A and Plan B), and we are seeking feedback.
Why Program Review?
The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) requires that all academic programs be reviewed on a regular basis.
Academic Program Review provides the means to ensure that EWU will offer an appropriate array of academic programs and that the institutional resources will be effectively aligned with it academic programs. Guided by each college’s planning framework, program reviews lay out multi-year plans that advance the university mission.
The goals and purpose of academic program review at EWU relates to:
- Accountability to all stakeholders
- Self-evaluation and curricular revitalization
- Development of informed decisions about program, faculty and student needs.
- Program Improvement and to plan for the challenges of the future.
Leadership and Key Roles
The extent to which the Provost, deans, faculty members, staff, and students are involved in the process are defined below.
