The mission of UNICEF is to provide children and communities with important supplies. Those supplies can provide assistance with education, health, shelter, and even clothes. These supplies are given to people in need around the world that need them the most.

UNICEF provides supplies to those in need around the globe. There are lots of options on the site and have various prices. Donors can choose to provide educational supplies such as backpacks, pencils, or even jump ropes to school-age children in need. Without donations, some students may go through school without essential supplies. Other types of donation that can be given include categories such as health and clothing. Many families don’t have the means to get vital immunizations, shelter, nutrition, or clothing. Teachers should consider partnering with UNICEF because their class has the ability to provide families in need with supplies that can be lifesaving.

Teachers can partner with the organization by doing coin drives or fundraisers to raise money. Student then can work together to choose which donation they would like to UNICEF to send. Students could also choose the donation that they want to make first and set a fundraising goal. UNICEF is a great choice for classroom civic engagements because it gets your class to work together and make decisions that will end up helping people across the globe. (D2.Civ.11.K-2.)
